The KTM Duke 200 has been by far the most popular premium naked bike in India. Along with the launch of the new KTM Duke 390 and Duke 250, the company also introduced a refreshed version of the Duke 200 for 2017.
The 2017 KTM Duke 200 will continue to be available in Orange, White and Black colours. Apart from the new graphics and the updated engine which is now BS-IV compliant, the Duke 200 remains similar to the previous model in order to be offered at the attractive price point.
Powering the 200 Duke is a 200 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that produces 25 PS of power and 19.2 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed transmission. The KTM Duke 200 continues using the underbelly exhaust which aids centralisation of masses and further improves the handling.
At the front, upside-down (USD) WP suspension having a diameter of 43 mm, the same as on the KTM 690 Duke provide extreme torsional rigidity with precise control of the front wheel. The high-quality die-cast swingarm is linked with WP shock absorber which offers excellent torsional stiffness and tracking stability.
Stopping power for the 200 Duke is provided via dual disc brake setup. It utilises a 300 mm rotor at the front while the rear gets on in 230 mm. KTM India has skipped the ABS feature to keep the pricing in check.
Other features on the 2017 KTM Duke 200 include lightweight trellis frame, LCD instrument cluster and halogen headlamps. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in MRF tyres that come in a width of 110 mm for front and 150 mm for the rear.
