The new 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 was digitally launched today in India at an introductory price of INR 4.58 Lakhs. The new bold & stylish 2017 Grand i10 is Hyundai’s answer to the ever evolving market dynamics and customer preferences. Highlights of the new model are its redefined exterior styling, hi-tech features and improved performance and fuel Efficiency.
Speaking at the launch of new 2017 Grand i10, Mr. Y K Koo, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, “Grand i10 is a phenomenal product. On the outside, the 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 gets a dose of the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. It features Hyundai’s new design identity, the cascading front grille which we saw earlier on the Hyundai i30. The front bumpers have been redesigned and now incorporate air curtains, similar to the ones seen on the Hyundai Elantra. The fog lamp enclosure also houses LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).
At the rear, the bumpers gets a dual tone treatment with round reflectors. The side moulding sees a bit of tweaking and are now much sleeker. The new design of the diamond cut alloy wheels lend a sporty character to the car. A rear spoiler is also available on the top end model.
Inside the hatchback continues with the dual tone combination seen on the outgoing model. It is now offered with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system which comes with voice recognition and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link. The system also gets smartphone navigation support. Also introduced is the Fully Automatic Climate Control (FACC) which adds to customers’ convenience.
The 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 is now offered with a new bigger 1.2 litre 3-cylinder U2 Diesel engine that produces 75 PS of power at 4,000 RPM with 19.4 KGM of torque. The petrol variant continues to be powered by the proven 1.2L Kappa Dual VTVT Petrol that produces 83 PS power at 6,000 RPM and 11.6 KGM torque at 4,000 RPM. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 4-speed automatic transmission is available only for the petrol motor.
Hyundai claims measures have been taken to improve aerodynamics, increase fuel efficiency and reduce NVH levels. While driver airbag is standard across the range, passenger airbags are provided from Sportz model onwards. ABS comes only in the top-spec Asta model.
