The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition has been launched in India. The word Sleet means partially-melted falling snow. The adventure motorcycle is limited to only 500 units and has been priced at INR 2.12 Lakh (on-road Chennai).
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet Edition can be booked exclusively online with a token amount of INR 5000 between 12th January and 30th January 2018. The sale will go live on 30 January 2018 and will be on a first come-first serve basis.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet features a snow camouflage paint job and comes with the Explorer kit as standard. This kit includes Aluminium Handlebar with Cross Brace, Handlebar End Weights, Engine Guards, Pannier Mounting Rails and water resistant aluminium panniers which have a capacity of 26 litres.
Mechanically, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the same 411 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection. This motor produces 24 bhp at 6500 rpm and a torque of 32 Nm at 4500 rpm. The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox along with 41 mm telescopic front fork and a monoshock suspension at the rear.
The Himalayan rides on 21-inch spoke wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. The adventure bike is fitted with dual-purpose tyres on both the wheels. Stopping power comes from a 300 mm disc with 2-piston floating calliper at the front and a 240 mm disc with single-piston floating calliper at the rear.
