India Kawasaki Motors has launched its cruiser, the Kawasaki Vulcan S in India. The motorcycle was launched at low profile event however the official unveiling will be done at the 2018 Auto Expo. The booking is open and interested buyers can visit the nearest dealers to book their Vulcan S which is available only in Flat Ebony colour.
The Kawasaki Vulcan S is powered by a 649 cc Parallel Twin DOHC liquid cooled engine with fuel injection which produces 61 PS at 7500 rpm and a torque of 63 Nm at 6600 rpm. This motor is coupled to a 6-speed transmission.
Braking power comes from a 300 mm disc with dual piston calliper at the front and a 250 mm disc with single-piston calliper at the rear. The Vulcan S is also equipped with ABS to make sure the cruiser stops in a safe manner.
”After our sports bikes, tourer bikes, naked bikes and off-road bikes settled in India, we felt it was a right time for us to bring this cruiser in the market. There cannot be a better way to start a new year by introduction of our worldwide known Vulcan brand,” said Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motor on the launch of the Vulcan S.

It is different than any other cruiser mainly because of its powerful, yet easy-to-control engine, easy manoeuvring, light weight, yet stable, and highway riding and important to mention 14 litre fuel tank with good fuel economy,” further stated Mr. Yutaka.
The cruiser stands apart due to its non-traditional looks due to its unique frame and suspension layout. The motorcycle features low seat height and adjustable clutch and brake levers. It also gets inverted triangle headlamp, tight-fit rear fender, unique wheel design and powerful 8 clean-cut under-engine muffler which adds modern flair to it looks. The Kawasaki Vulcan S is also equipped with adjustable foot pegs, handle and seat.

The Vulcan S is priced at INR 5,44,000 (ex-showroom).
