Volvo Cars have introduced an exciting product for adventurous car buyers in India. The All-New V90 Cross Country creates an entirely new segment in the country. It is 2-cars-in-1, providing the supreme comfort of a luxury sedan with the go-anywhere practicality and ride height of an SUV. The Volvo V90 Cross Country is priced at INR 60 Lakh ex-showroom.
The All-New V90 Cross Country which is based on the V90 station wagon which in turn is based on the S90 sedan boasts of a rugged looking exterior design that communicates the powerful and dynamic capability of the car. The front and rear skid plates blend seamlessly into the bumper for an elegant look and the cladding helps to protect the bodywork. Bold lines, the raked rear window and the tall LED tail lights, with their slender vertical shape, are both contemporary and classically Volvo. The 20-inch diamond cut alloy wheels that come as standard add to the sporty character of the crossover.
Under that adventurous looking body belies a sumptuous interior that delivers a level of luxury uncommon in the segment, combining all the benefits of the connectivity and entertainment features that were launched with the new S90 and V90, including a high-end sound system by Bowers & Wilkins with 19-speakers.
The front seats provide superb support and a huge range of adjustment. It also features Ventilation for heating and cooling along with massage functions for even greater comfort. The shape of the backrests increases legroom for passengers in the rear. The Volvo V90 Cross Country also features an electric panoramic glass sunroof.

Powering the V90 Cross Country is a robust diesel engine with Power Pulse Technology. This twin-turbo engine delivers 235 hp and 480 Nm torque coupled with an 8-Speed gearbox with paddle shifters. The new generation powertrains are clean and comply with stringent European and Indian emission norms. The driver can choose from four drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Dynamic and Off-Road depending on the road conditions.
Other features of the crossover include a high ground clearance of 210 mm, which is higher than some of the SUVs offered in India. It is also equipped with Haldex All Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Hill Descent Control. It also boasts of a rear Air-Suspension which makes sure the car wades through the rough terrain with ease.
Volvo Cars is also the first company to have radar guided safety in India. These active safety features which come as standard in the V90 Cross Country help mitigating collisions and aid the. Some of these radar based features include Adaptive cruise control, Lane keeping-aid, Collision Warning with full auto-braking for Pedestrians, Cyclists, other vehicles and large animals, Blind-spot detection with Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Collision Warning and Park Pilot Assist. The All-new Volvo V90 Cross Country is offered in six exterior colours – Havana/Maple Brown Metallic, Crystal White Metallic, Magic Blue Metallic, Osmium Grey Metallic, Onyx Black Metallic and Bright Silver Metallic.
Along with launching the car the Swedish car maker has also inaugurated a brand new dealership – Scandia Motorcars in Delhi. This is the fourth facility in the NCR region and eighteenth in the country. The new showroom spans over 30,000 sqft and is located on Mathura Road.
